Personality

       In the past Hailey was always a happy and bubbly individual, and that much hasn't changed. When she grows close to someone she can be known to always be a very friendly and loving person. Hailey is a generally positive person, even when things can be at their bleakest. Hailey can also be a viciously loyal and courageous person to be involved with, someone willing to die for those she finds worth it. Outside of her loving nature she is known to have a violent temper. Since her abusive relationship, she snaps violently when it comes to things related to the well being of young women. Her temper can be so explosive that people might have to physically pull her away from whoever she is ready to pummel. 

Backstory

       Hailey O'Malley was born into a large home as a middle child for two very busy parents in Seattle, Washington. She had a pretty normal childhood growing up, with an overprotective older brother and a bratty little sister. Sometimes it felt like a competition for love and affection, but generally she was happy. At a still young age her parents picked up and moved to Chicago, Illinois after accepting a job offer. When it came to school Hailey graduated top of her class, while playing soccer throughout her school years. Her parents eventually passed away in her late teens from a robbery gone wrong. Her siblings moved out of Chicago soon after.

       A detective from the CPD known as Harold O'Malley took Hailey in as a daughter of his own, helping her out in the world. He helped her through a medical program that allowed her to become a paramedic for the Fire Department. Not long after that Hailey ran into a man by the name of Thomas Rochetti; who was secretly running a crime syndicate with his younger brother. It took roughly three months for Thomas to completely absorb Hailey and drag her into his world. She had disappeared completely from her work and her ordinary life, before winding up a wounded brainwashed animal. 

        She became addicted to several types of narcotics while being put through sexual, mental and physical abuse for several years. A sense of Stockholm Syndrome consumed her, as she fell hard for the man who proceeded to beat all of her personality away. There were several times that his assaults had put her in the hospital, and it wasn't until her foster father Harold found her one evening after years of searching - that he had enough. Harold O'Malley had been arrested before as a dirty cop, before being put back on duty to actually sniff out more dirty cops in his division. Though after years he was able to break free and resume his usual antics. He ran the city and protected it at all costs. 

       One evening Thomas Rochettis' mutilated corpse washed up to the surface of the Chicago River, found by a passing boat. Roughly a month afterward, Hailey discovered she was left pregnant with the child of a man who abused her and completely tried to destroy her. She will never openly admit it, but there were several times she thought of and had attempted to abort the child, but with a streak of luck she managed to give birth nine months later to a seemingly healthy baby boy, who later she named Bellamy O'Malley. For awhile Hailey suffered heavily from Postnatal Depression, but soon came to overcome it and find that she loved her son more than herself. That out of something so horrific and terrifying, came something that could bring her so much joy. 

       Before the discovery of Thomas' body in the Chicago River, Harold helped Hailey; unaware of her pregnancy, out to New York for a fresh beginning. Now about a whole year later, Hailey owns a small apartment to fit herself, her now two month old baby boy and a newly rescued pitbull pup. Hailey even has a new position as a Detective of the NYPD, thanks to her foster father pulling some strings and grabbing her a solid spot. A job she had always wanted, inspired by him. But now, she lives on her own raising her boy and doing what she can to make New York just a little bit better, with the help of a loyal babysitter: her sister. The younger siblings' help was majorly appreciated.

Bellamy is the son of Hailey and Thomas, the product of a very toxic and abusive relationship. Hailey raises Bellamy as well as she can, being a single mother. Nothing relating to Thomas exists around Bellamy, due to his mother completely blacklisting that part of her life. Bellamy is usually always dressed adorably thanks to Mom.

 

Elias Harper • New York Detective • Hailey's Partner

Elias is Hailey's partner in the NYPD, and one of the only men Hailey considers herself comfortable around. They were partnered as soon as Hailey became a Detective in NY and have grown to be close friends.  Elias is another person she has come to consider as family; like her adoptive father Harold, and Hailey would give her life for him.
